William "Bill" O'Brien, 71, of Barnesville, passed away Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Jacksons, Aug. 2, 1939, he was a son of the late John and Stella O'Brien.
He served in the Navy and was employed for 40 years at Flint Ink Co. (Sinclair/Valentine).
He was a member of St. Richard's Church, Barnesville.
He was a member of Ryan Township Fire Company, chief of the Ryan Township fire police and board chairman of the sewer authority.
He was the husband of Antoinette Ogrodnick O'Brien.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Kelly Ann O'Brien, Frackville; a son, William O'Brien and his wife, Lisa, Chester Springs; sisters, Ann Shaner, Home town, Margaret Godfrey, Levittown, and Mary Cummes, Barnesville; a brother, Joseph O'Brien, Emmaus; grandchildren, Karlie, Sean and Katelyn.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Richard's Church. Father Whalen will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
