Mr. Walter Leskosky, 92, of Mahanoy City, passed away Thursday, March 31st, 2011 at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home, Shenandoah, PA.
Mr. Leskosky was born in Philadelphia on April 7, 1918, the son of the late Paul and Sohpia (Bucklar) Leskosky.
He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City, PA.
He served in the U.S. Army in WW II in Pattons 4th Armored Division and had earned the Euroean, African, and Middle Eastern Service Medals with 5 Bronze Stars.
Walter had worked at St. Nicholas Breaker, Bethlehem Steel, and was custodian at the former St. Joseph Church Mahanoy City.
He was the husband of the late Anna (Tella) Leskosky.
Walter is survived by daughters Mary Pascavage and husband John of Perkasie.
Deborah Daynorovicz of Mahanoy City, Victoria Goodman and husband Neal of Mahanoy City, Christina Leshko and husband David of Mahanoy City, and son Joseph Valencia and wife Barbara of Barnesville.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews
Walter was the last of his immediate family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA.
Friends may call 6 to 8 PM Monday evening and Tuesday at 9 AM at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc.
Burial will be at Sky View Memorial Park where a White Dove will be released in his memory.
