Victoria Getz, 92, of New Boston, Mahanoy City, died Saturday morning at Broad Mountain Manor, Frackville.
Born in Kaska, Dec. 10, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Kupchinsky.
A graduate of Blythe Township High School, she lived most of her life in New Boston.
She was employed in the local garment industry and retired from Eagle Brothers Shirt Factory, formerly of Mahanoy City.
She
was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church,
Mahanoy City. She had been a member of the former Assumption BVM Church
in Mahanoy City.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Getz,
in 1999; two brothers, Walter Kupchinsky and Frank Kupchinsky; and two
grandsons, John Getz III and Michael Getz, in 2005.
Surviving
are two sons, Louis Getz and Michael Getz, both of New Boston; a
brother, Stanley Kupp, Mechanicsburg; a daughter-in-law, Jeri Humes
Getz, Macungie; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m.
Tuesday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City. Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed
Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City. Interment will
be in Assumption BVM Cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a white dove will be
released at the grave site in her memory. Friends may call at the
funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. The family prefers memorials in
her name be sent to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish. Louis D.
