Obituary

Thomas Gimeno, 80, of Liberty Hill, Mahanoy City, passed away Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Sept. 29, 1929, he was a son of the late Vincent and Helen Storpitis Gimeno.

He served in the Army as military police during the Korean War.

He worked as a welder at Mack Trucks, Allentown.

He was a member of the former St. Canicus Church, Mahanoy City.

Surviving are a sister, Dolores Mitchell, Barnesville; brothers, Ted Gimeno, Mahanoy City, and Edward Gimeno, Locust Valley; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. Saturday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown, where a white dove will be released in his memory.
