Theresa Pajakinas, 92, of Tamaqua, passed away Tuesday, June 28th, peacefully, at Rosewood Nursing Home Schuylkill Haven.
Theresa was born in Mahanoy City, PA on August 28, 1923, a daughter of the late Catherine (Smelowsky) and Andrew Yankus.
She was a member of the former St. Peter and Paul's Church Tamaqua and was past president of the St. Peter & Paul's Ladies Auxiliary.
Theresa had worked as a seamstress at Eagle Brothers Mahanoy City and Girard Mills Tamaqua. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She was wife of the late Anthony Pajakinas.
Theresa is survived by three sons Tony, husband of Carol, of Summit Hill; Edward, of South Tamaqua; Stephen, of Wilkes-Barre; & a brother, Joe Yankus, of Connecticut.
She is also survived by grandchildren Tony Pajakinas, and his wife Lea; Cade Leitzel, and her husband Bill; Karly Hine; Dr. Jillian Mullen, and her fiancé David Truskowsky; Lindsay Pajakinas; & Lacey Pajakinas; and by 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Theresa is preceded in death by daughter Catherine; brothers Andy, John, and a sister Helen Cudding.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 2nd, with Father William Linchorst officiating.
Friends may call Saturday 11:30 AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
Interment will follow in St Peter and Paul's Cemetery Tamaqua.
