Obituary
Mr. Thaddeus (Ted) Styka, 79, of Mahanoy City. passed away Saturday,
June 4th, 2011 at Hometown Nursing and Rehab Center, Rush, PA.
Mr. Styka was born in Reading, on January 28, 1932, the son of the late Frank and Agatha (Mazur) Styka.
He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City, PA.
Lived most of his life in Mahanoy and worked in the Local mines, Lakawannna Coal Company, Morea CoGen Plant. Number one contractor, and Collins & Maxwell Construction Co. .
Enjoyed spending time with this grandkids and especially liked hiking with them.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Davis) Styka. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Tom Shuman, Philadelphia, Theodore and his wife Moria, Mahanoy City, David and his wife Rene, Barnesville, Frank of Gilberton, and daughter Crystal Wagner from Girardville, and a brother Francis, Minersville. 12 Grand Children and 3 Great Grand Children Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by a daughter Tammy, and Brothers Edward and Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 7th, with Rev Kevin Gallagher officiating.
Friends may call Monday 6-8- PM. and Tuesday 9 AM. at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.. .
Interment at Skyview Memorial Park Tamaqua, PA. where a white dove will be released in her memory. The family prefers donations to Team Doves of White American Cancer Society Relay for life team and can be made on the Funeral Home web site or at the funeral home.
