Susan Marie Collins Ahearn of Fruitland Park, Florida, died on August 8, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Irene Engle Collins, Susan graduated from Sun Valley High School and was a proud graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
She is survived by her husband, Matt, of Fruitland Park, Florida; her brother Kevin Collins of Cleveland, Ohio; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Steven and Helen Angle of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania; her paternal grandparents, John and Genevieve Collins of Delano, Pennsylvania; her brother Jack Collins of Ridley Park, Pennsylvania; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Susan worked in the social welfare field before returning to publishing, where she spent many years selling textbooks to colleges and universities across the United States. She was a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association, the FCSU, and Branch 112 of the St. John the Baptist Society of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania.
Susan will be remembered by all who knew, cherished, befriended, and loved her. One of a kind, she lived life to the fullest. She touched many lives with her humor, patience, fortitude, and bravery in facing life’s challenges. She remains a beacon of light for those who follow.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10a.m. on Friday, August 28, at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. Public visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the parish.
Interment will follow at St. Canicus Cemetery, Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania.
