Mr. Stanley Sopko, 70, of Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully Monday, January 14th, 2013 at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah, PA.
Mr. Sopko was born in Shenandoah, PA on July 4, 1942, the son of the late Simon and Leona (Sabet) Sopko. He lived most of his life in Mahanoy City.
Stanley loved working as an auto mechanic and rebuilding and fixing cars. He had a strong passion for classic cars, motorcycles, and enjoyed being outdoors. His most treasured memories are those that were created with his family.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church Mahanoy City.
He belonged to the Washington Hook & Ladder in Mahanoy City.
Stanley had graduated from Mahanoy City High School Class of 1961
He was married to Ethel (Wertz) Sopko.
He is survived by Pamela Antonio of Moscow, and sons Stanley Jr. of Mahanoy City., Matthew of Barnesville and a sister Tessa Giacobbe - Ebersole of Harrisburg, five grandchildren and a niece and a nephew.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church Mahanoy City with Rev. Crawford officiating, Saturday January 19, at 11am. Friends may call from 10 am at the church.
