Obituary
Sophie Lesusky, 93, of Mahanoy City, passed away Thursday, July 7th, at Schuylkill Medical Center South Jackson, Pottsville.
Sophie was born in Hrabkov, Slovakia, on May 12, 1923, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Hadbavny) and Matthew Sofranko.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City.
Sophie had worked for many years at Russell – Williams as a sewing machine operator in Mahanoy City.
She had belonged Rosary Society and Jednota. Sophie was also a baker and gardener.
Sophie graduated from Mahanoy Township High School Class of 1943.
She was the wife of the late Leonard W. Lesusky.
Sophie is survived by a daughter, Marie, of Mahanoy City. two sons Francis M., of Coopersburg; Leonard P., of Port Carbon; and by 2 Grandchildren Jeffrey and Garrett.
Preceded in death by 4 sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 10 am on Thursday, July 14th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.
Friends may call Thursday 9 am at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
Interment will be in the Assumption BVM Cemetery Mahanoy City, PA.
Family prefers donations to St Vincent DePaul society.
