Obituary

SGT Thomas A. Barnes, Jr., 39, of Mahanoy City. passed away Friday, July 15th, 2011 at home.
Mr. Barnes was born in Middletown, on February 2, 1972, the son of the late Thomas and Karen (Miller) Barnes.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist in the Operation Iraqi Freedom. He had received the Army Commendation Medal, 3 Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, 2 Army Reserve Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Medical Badge.

Had also worked at Fort Indiantown Gap.

He was the husband of Sara (Moore) Barnes.
Survived in addition to his mother by Daughters Alicia and
Bailey both at home and a son Adam Barnes, and a sister Sister Suzanne and a Brother Jeff Barnes.

A Military Honors Service will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA,Wednesday July 20th, at 11:30 AM.
