Rose Swokel, 93, formerly of West Spruce Street, Mahanoy City, died Saturday morning at Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Swokel and Julia Piwowarski Swokel.
She lived all her life in Mahanoy City and had been employed by City Shirt factory, formerly of Mahanoy City.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City.
She was also a member of the Rosary Society of the former St. Casimir Parish, Mahanoy City.
She
was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Swokel in 1959, Francis
Swokel in 2002, and Florian Swokel in 2008; and a sister, Agnes Keim,
in 1999.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Mary Ellen, wife of
Dr. Ivor Lewis, Laurel Ridge, Frackville, John Keim, husband of Rita,
Mason, Ohio, Kathryn, wife of Robert Walkosak, Murrysville, Francis
Keim, husband of Roberta, Lakeland, Fla., and Lawrence Keim, West
Chester, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10
a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, Mahanoy City. Friends may
call at the church at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Casimir Cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a
white dove
will be released at the grave site in her memory.
