Rose Ann Shala (nee Sibulsky), age 68, passed away at Geisinger Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was the only child of Joseph "Mutta" and Sophie Sibulsky (nee Upachinsky). Rose Ann was born on August 9, 1946 at Locust Mountain Hospital in Shenandoah, PA. She graduated from J. W. Cooper High School as a member of the Class of 1964.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Shala of Shenandoah, PA, to whom she was married for 44 years, and her only son, Joseph V. Shala of Harrisburg, PA. Rose Ann is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rose Ann's last place of employment was Boyer's IGA in Shenandoah, PA as a cashier. Her joyful disposition and strong work ethic were appreciated by all who came in contact with her.

She enjoyed football, playing games, watching TV, and spending time with her family. Rose Ann was a member of St. George's Roman Catholic Church (now Divine Mercy Parish) in Shenandoah, PA.

Her outlook on life was that "No matter how bad you have it, somebody else always has it worse." Rose Ann made the best of each day God gave her, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

There will be no viewing, and the funeral will be held at the family's convenience.
