Rita Walchak, 80, of Johnson Home for the Aged, Wapwallopen, originally
of Mahanoy City, died Wednesday evening at Berwick Hospital.
Born in Mahanoy City, Oct. 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Edna Kielczewski Walchak.
She was a 1945 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and had attended McCann School of Business.
She had worked at the former City Shirt Factory, Mahanoy City.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Parish, Mahanoy City.
She
was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Louis, John and Frank
Walchak; and sisters, Florence Jadosh, Agnes Walchak and infant Eva.
She was the last member of her family.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Louis D. Truskowsky
Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish. Interment will be in St. Casimir
Cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a
white dove
will be released at the
grave side in her memory. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Monday at the
funeral home.
