Rita C. Sevelan, 76, of Craigs Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Monday, March 14th, after a short stay at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah.

Rita was born in Mahanoy City, PA on August 13, 1939, a daughter of the late Anna (Wabbles) and Joseph Sevelan.

Rita graduated from Mahanoy Township High School.

She had worked as a clerk at the former Whalen's Pharmacy in Mahanoy City.

She was a member of Devine Mercy Parish in Shenandoah.

Rita adored animals. She also loved her needle point and arts and crafts.

Rita is preceded in death by her long time companion John "Jack" Williams who passed away January 24 of this year, and by a brother Joseph, and sister Genevieve Yaccino. She was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by a niece Jean Ann Yaccino of Lewes Delaware, and a nephew Carl Yaccino of Hazleton.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home in Mahanoy City at 10AM on Thursday, March 17th, with Monsignor Bocian officiating. Friends may call from 9AM until time of service. Interment will follow in St Casimir Cemetery Shenandoah.

Family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society or to The Lustgarten Foundation (CurePC.Org), and can be made at the funeral home.
