Rita Boczkowsky, aged 97, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25th, at Shenandoah Senior Living Community. Born on January 2, 1927, in Mahanoy City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rose (Saltonis) and Joseph Domkus.

Rita was a member of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Mahanoy City, PA. She graduated from Mahanoy Area High School in the class of 1944 and went on to have a fulfilling career as a Line and Type Operator and Seamstress, working with Saule Publishing, Seiders Printing Pottsville, and the former Russel Williams Dress Factory. She was also a proud member of the United Garment Workers Ladies Union.

Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Boczkowsky, her brothers Joseph Popolsky & Vincent Strockis, and her sister Helen Yodis. She is survived by her brother, Edward, and his wife Frances Domkus, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Mahanoy City, PA, at 10 AM on Monday, December 2nd, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 9 to 10 AM at the parish. Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery in Mahanoy City, PA.
