Obituary
Richard Lee Emerick, 66, of Orwigsburg, PA, passed away Saturday, January 30th, at Seton Manor.
Richard was born in Pottsville, PA on August 6, 1949, a son of Catherine (Zerbe) Emerick and the late Richard Emerick.
Richard graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Political Science.
He served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd LT.
He was a Police Officer holding the rank of sergeant for the city of Pottsville. After retiring from the Police force he was a Lieutenant for the Schuylkill County Jail.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the American Hose Company of Pottsville.
He was the husband of Melanie (Amos) Emerick.
Richard is survived in addition to his mother and wife by a son, Richard Lance Emerick, of Shamokin Dam.
A grave side service is planned for the future in Schuylkill Memorial Park.
