Obituary

Mr. Paul Ryan, 69, of 1051 W. Erie St., Allentown, passed away Saturday at his residence.

Born in Mahanoy City, Dec. 14, 1939, he was a son of the late Paul R. and Kathleen O'Brien Ryan. He was a graduate of Mahanoy Township High School, class of 1957.

He served in the Navy in peace time.

He had worked for D.C. Navy League, C.Y. Schelly and Russell Stover Candy.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Mahanoy City. He had belonged to the Lehigh Consistory and Rajah Temple, was a member of the Maha- noy City Historical Society and Mahanoy Township Alumni Group, and was a lifetime member of Benjamin B. French Lodge 15, Washington, D.C. He participated in adopting and rescuing Airedales and was an expert in German militarism.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Thomas Ryan; a sister, Maryann McGeehon, wife of Michael, Houston, Texas.

Friends and family are invited to an interment service at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. The Rev. John Reid will officiate. A white dove will be released in his memory. The family prefers donations to the endowment fund of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Mahanoy City, or the newspaper project in care of the Mahanoy City Public Library.
