Obituary

Patricia Anne Griggs of Shamokin entered into eternal rest on Jan 5, 2013 at St Lukes Pavilion in Hazleton. Patricia was born in Shamokin on November 28, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Laura Kramlick of Coal Run.

She graduated from Coal Township High School in 1957. Was first married in 1958 and had three children. She later remarried in 1972 to Francis Griggs of Mahanoy City with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage on Dec 28.

Patricia worked at the Alumo Factory in Mt Carmel from 1967 to 1978 and then became the proprietor of Pat's café, a local tavern in Mahanoy City, until she retired in 1989.

In her retirement Patricia loved to cook and share her delicious recipes. She was an avid reader and always sent articles and stories of interest to all her family. She also was a coupon clipper and loved to share her ideas, coupons and ways to save money.

She will be remembered best for being a devoted, loving and wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister who taught by example and would share everything she had to create a better life for her loved ones.

She was loved by all and will be truly missed. Preceding her in death was her mother and father; her sisters Ester, Irene, Dorothy and her brother Leonard. Patricia is survived by her husband Francis Griggs of Mahanoy City, her daughter Leslie Michalski, daughter Theresa Krapf and Fiancée Dennis Ganc, of Hazleton, her son David Michalski and Wife Susan, of Mission Viejo, California, two grand daughters, Nicole Fenkner and Rachel Fenkner, two Grandsons Matthew Michalski and Brett Krapf and two great grand children Liam and Madison. She is also survived by her Sister Lottie Lechinsky of Atlas, her brother Paul and his wife Donna Kramlick of Beaumont, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Wednesday Jan 9, from 6 to 9PM and again from 9:30AM Thursday at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. Mahanoy City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City. Interment will be private at the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
