Obituary

Mr. Norbert J. Lapinsky, 89, of Mahanoy City, passed away Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Wilkes Barre.

Mr. Lapinsky was born in , Mahanoy City on October 19, 1921, the son of the late Martin and Agnes (Kluchinsky) Lapinsky.

He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City, PA. and lived most of his life in Mahanoy City but for the last 10 years, lived with his nephew David Lapinsky in Ringtown.

He served in the U.S. Army in WW II and was awarded the Purple Heart when he was injured in the battle of Normandy.

Norbert was an avid walker, especially around the mountains of Mahanoy City.

He graduated from Mahanoy City High School Class of "1939"

Norbert was the last of his family, and was preceded in death by
Sisters Anna Mahalsky, Veronica Delinsky, Isabela Lapinsky and
brother Leonard Lapinsky.
Survived by many Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 10 AM on Saturday, January 15th, with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating.

Friends may call Saturday 8:30 - 9:30 am at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc. Mahanoy City.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mahanoy City, PA.
