Matthew John Stitzer, 58, of Allentown, died, Jan. 21, 2016, in his home, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Mahanoy City, he was the son of the late H. Peter and Lois (Hinkle) "Kizzy" Stitzer. A 1975 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, he also received an AAS degree from LCCC. He worked many years as a Microbiologist for Kraft Foods. Matt, enjoyed acting in community theater and performed for PA Play House in Bethlehem, Theater Outlet and Civic Theater Both in Allentown. He was a founding member of Fighting AIDS Continuously Together and served on the board for over 15 years.

He is survived by his twin brother, Mark Stitzer of Allentown, sister, Susan Ball (George) of Mahanoy City, nephew, Joshua Ball (Allison), nieces Vikki Buffington (Craig), Amanda Stitzer-Sheppton and Noelle Stitzer, 5 great nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 7th at the Funeral Home. Family & friends will be received from 11am-12:30pm followed by the service at 12:30pm.
