Obituary
Mary Matalavage, 95, of Mahanoy City, passed away Friday at Broad Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Frackville.
Born in Mahanoy City, Sept. 26, 1916, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Christapovich Cashmere.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City.
Mary had worked at Russell Williams Dress Factory, Mahanoy City.
She attended local schools and belonged to the Mahanoy City Senior Citizens.
She was the wife of the late William Matalavage.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Sullivan; and sisters, Violet Buchman and Florence Robbins.
She is survived by a son, William and his wife, Joanne, Williamsport; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, with Monsignor Anthony Wassel officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Wednesday the church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a white dove will be released in her memory.
