Mary Burgess, 96 formerly of Mahanoy City, died Monday afternoon at the Broad Mountain Manor Frackville where has lived for several years. Mary was born in Mahanoy City, a daughter of the late Anthony Kuchinsky and Anna Kupstas Kuchinsky. She was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School where she was a member of the Cheer Leading Team.

Mary was self employed as a beautician for over 40 years before she retired.

She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RC Parish Mahanoy City. She was also a member of the ELKS auxiliary, TPA post Q, Lithuanian Women's club, and the Mahanoy City Beautician's Association.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jack in January of 2003, her son Jack of Washington DC in May 2008, and by her sister Brone Kuchinsky in February 1999.

Survivors include a nephew Frank Ollin and his wife Julie Florida, a niece Lorraine Maff and her Husband Tony of Tamaqua, and her friends Edwin and Dolores Miller of Mahanoy City.

A funeral is planned at the convenience of her family with interment to be in St. Joseph cemetery Mahanoy City where a White Dove will be released in her memory. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
