Margaret Mary Bernadyn, 91, of Mahanoy City, PA passed away Thursday, June 16 at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.

Margaret was born in Mahanoy City on February 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kurtz) Peel.

She was employed at City Shirt, Mahanoy City, for three years and was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker thereafter.  She was an avid chef and baker, who loved watching the news and keeping up with current events.  She also enjoyed exercising at home so that she could remain physically fit.  She enjoyed reading about bears and traveling to Wyoming, Montana, California, and New York State with her family.

She was predeceased, in addition to her parents by her loving husband Louis Bernadyn; five brothers, Elmer, Michael, Jack, George, and Joseph Peel; and four sisters, Josephine Hylan; Rose Luke; Florence Zaborsky and Mary Peel.

Surviving are two daughters, Lorraine Bernadyn, Frackville, PA and Jane Bernadyn and husband Brian Bradway, Norwood, PA. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City at 10 am on Monday, June 20 ^th , with Rev. Kevin Gallagher officiating.

Friends and family may call on Monday from 9am to 10am at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish.

Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery, Mahanoy City, PA.
