Obituary

Ladislaus Bernadyn, 90, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Christmas Eve, at Schuylkill Medical Center South Jackson, Pottsville.

Ladislaus was born in Mahanoy City, PA on September 3, 1925, a son of the late Kathryn (Bojarska) and Albert Bernadyn.

He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City

He served in World War II from Nov 1943 to Dec 1945, earning 2 purple hearts and numerous citations. He then re-enlisted in August 1946 to August 1951 earning numerous medals during the Korean War.

He returned to civilian life working in numerous local industries.

Ladislaus was a member of the NRA and the Holy Name Society.

He attended local Schools.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Louis, Francis, Paul and John Bernadyn; three sisters Helen Bernadyn, Mary Mikulsky and Anna Bangert.

He is survived by four brothers, Leon, Michael, Thomas and Leonard Bernadyn: two sisters, Agnes Bernadyn and Helen Shekalis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.

Friends may call at the church from 9AM until time of Mass.

Interment will be in St. Casimir Cemetery Mahanoy City, PA.
