Karen A. Roy   Karen A. Roy of Mahanoy City PA, died at home Thursday evening. She was born in Springfield MA, a daughter of the late Edward Gurka and Gladys Thibodeau Gurka and was a graduate of the High school of Commerce in Springfield in 1975. Karen had been a school bus driver for the city of Springfield, was of the Catholic faith and loved to go camping. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Roy in 2005.

Surviving are her fiancée Thomas Boyle, Mahanoy City PA, daughters Tammy Barrientos, Shenandoah PA, and Kara Theriaque, Holyoke MA, a sister Dianne Kemp, Hampton NH and grandchildren Jonathan, David, Sylvia, Ricky and Owen, and a niece Leslie.

Her funeral will be Tuesday 11 am at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home and Crematory, Mahanoy City PA, Interment will be in St. Canicus cemetery Mahanoy City where a White Dove will be released in her memory. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 am.
