Mrs. Julia Lord, 86, of Mahanoy City, passed away Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Mrs. Lord was born in Vulcan No. 2, Mahanoy City, on July 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Leja Bistronish.
She was the wife of the late Leon Lord.
She had worked at her husband's flower shop, Leon's Flowers, Mahanoy City, for 25 years, as well as at City Shirt and Mahanoy City Cigar Factory.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband, by brothers, John, Stephen and Joseph; and sisters, Mary Stevens and Anna Lasusky.
She is survived by a daughter, Joanne Billy, Akron, Ohio; two sons, Leon Lord, Howard, and John Lord, Frackville; sisters, Helen Marcavage, Hometown, and Irene Urbanski, Chicago, Ill.; nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church with Father James Carroll officiating. Panachida will be at 10 a.m. at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, where a white dove will be released in her memory.
