Josephine M. Miskar, 93, of Mahanoy City passed away Sunday afternoon at Shenandoah Manor Senior Living Community.

Josephine was born September 25, 1921, daughter of the late Fred and Clara (Menapace) Martini.

She had graduated from East Union Township High School, class of 1939.

She had worked for many years at Eagle Brothers from which she retired.

Josephine was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City.

She was the wife of the late Charles Miskar who passed away in 1968.

Josephine is preceded in death also by a son Charles in 1996, also an infant son Charles, and a sister Marie Luciani.

Survived by sons Gerald and his wife Andrea, New Jersey, John Barry and wife Marilyn, Hazleton, and daughter Carolyn Petterson and husband Eric. Also by6 grandchildren Kristen Ischinger and husband Tim, Charlene Gawronski, Nicholas Miskar and wife Amy, Eric Petterson, Brian Miskar and Madison Miskar. 2 Step grandchildren Daniel Schreffler, and Joanne Reside. 8 great grandchildren, Justin, Julia and Jack Ischinger, Ava and Drew Gawronski, and Brooke, Brielle, and Brynn Hannis-Miskar. An Aunt Mary Wetzstein. Also nieces and nephews.

Office of Devine Liturgy will be held at St. Mary's Byzantine Church in Mahanoy City at 10 am Thursday September 10th. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. Mahanoy City and from 9AM Thursday at St. Mary's Church.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mahanoy City where a white dove will be released in her memory. Family prefers donations to St. Mary's Church.
