Obituary

Joseph Ronitz, 88, of Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg, formerly of 508 W. South St., Mahanoy City, died Tuesday evening at his residence.

Born on Oct. 2, 1919 in Buck Mountain, Barnesville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Fannie Skrip Ronitz.

He lived in Mahanoy City most of his life and attended Mahanoy Township schools. A retired auto mechanic, Joseph had worked for John Kline Motors and Baran Motors. He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of St. Casimir Church, Mahanoy City. He was a member of Mahanoy City Social Club and the Mahanoy City American Legion Post 74.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mazalewsky, who died on Nov. 18, 2006, a brother, Andrew Ronitz, and a sister, Ann Catalano.

Surviving are a son, Joseph Ronitz, husband of Diane, New Ringgold; a brother, George Ronetz, Middlesex, N.J.; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Church, Mahanoy City. Internment in the parish cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a white dove will be released at the grave side in his memory.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
