Obituary

Joseph "Rip" Rodriguez, 81, of Mahanoy City, took his last walk with his cigar to God on Tuesday morning at home after a brief illness.

A Korean War veteran, he was a member of the American Legion and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Anna Leskowsky Rodriguez; and a sister, Romona.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Gloria; a daughter, Maria and her husband, Tony Fazio, Hazleton; a son, Joseph and his wife, Gail, Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandsons, Anthony Fazio, Casselberry, Fla., Mark Fazio, Hazleton, and David and Scott Roberts, Port Charlotte; a great-grandson, Noah Fazio, Casselberry; a sister, Dolores D'Angelo; nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Saturday January 14 at 11am. Friends may call from 10 am at the church The family requests any memorials be donated to St. Vincent dePaul Society of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
