Joseph G. (Ducky) Kurdinsky age 79 of Mahanoy City died Monday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center Danville. Born in Mahanoy City he was the son of the late Michael Kurdinsky and the former Eva Schwyka.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of Mahanoy City and had attended Mahanoy City schools. He had worked for General Cigar, formerly of Mahanoy City, for 25 years and for Eagle Brother's Shirt Factory, formerly of Mahanoy City, from which he retired.

Joseph was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.

He was the last of his family and was preceded in death by a sister Eleanor Chiginsky and a brother Michael Kurdinsky in 2010.

He is survived by his wife the former Patricia Ogrodnick, a son Joseph Kurdinsky and his wife Holly of Phoenix Park PA. Daughters Cindy and her husband John Richmond, Frackville , and Patty Kurdinsky and her Fiancee Ron Bane of Frackville.

There are four grandchildren, Michael Kurdinsky, Megan Bane, Joshua and Jennifer Richmond. Nieces and nephews also survive.

The Funeral will be Friday with Divine Liturgy celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church. Friends may call at the church from 9 am. Interment will be in Skyview Memorial Park Hometown where a white dove will be released in his memory.
