Obituary

John "Jack" Ryan, Sr., 86, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Monday, September 5th, at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.

Jack was born in Ravine, PA on June 9, 1930, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Lapachinsky) Ryan.

Jack was married to Antoinette (Hentz) Ryan who passed away on July 1, 2014. Jack and Toni were married for 62 years.

As owner of Jack Ryan & Sons, Heating and Oil Inc., Jack serviced his community for close to fifty years. He additionally was active in many civic organizations. He was a member of the Good American Hose Company, the Elks Lodge 695 of Mahanoy City, past Mahanoy City Borough Fire Chief, as well as past President of the Cannon Hole Spring Game Club, Lycoming County.

Jack is survived by three sons: John (Jack ) Ryan, Jr. of Allentown, Robert (Bob) Ryan, of Mahanoy City, and Gary Ryan, of Mahanoy City. He was preceded in death by an infant son Joseph. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Richards Church, Barnesville, at 11AM on Friday, September 9th, with Reverend Joseph T. Whalen officiating. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at St. Richards Church, Barnesville, PA.

Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery Shenandoah, PA with Military and Fire Company Honors.
