John "Jack" Williams, 82, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Sunday, January 24th, at his residence.
John was born in Mahanoy City, PA on January 8, 1934, a son of the late Anna (Halushka) and Paul Williams.
He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church Mahanoy City.
Jack graduated from Mahanoy Township High School class of 1951.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 1950's.
He drove for his fathers company, Paul B. Williams Bus Line for many years. He also worked for Luther Holt in Morea. He loved to tinker and fix things especially cars.
John is survived by his companion of many years Rita Sevelan, and also three sisters, Irene Najda, of Shenandoah; Eleanor Barrack, of Danville; Mary Ann Anceravige, of Mahanoy City, and a brother, Dr Andrew, husband of Judith Williams, of Catawissa; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brothers Paul and Elmer and sister Ethel.
Office of Christian Burial and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary's Byzantine Church, Mahanoy City, at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 28th, with Father Jim Carroll officiating.
Friends may call Thursday 9:30 AM at the church.
Interment is planned at the National Cemetery Fort Indiantown Gap Annville, PA.
