Joanne Hassell, age 79, of Hazleton, formerly of Shenandoah and Mahanoy City, died at home Friday afternoon. She was born in Shenandoah a daughter of the late Thomas Lawson and Margaret (Sally) Hilbert Lawson, and she attended Shenandoah schools.

Joanne was preceded in death by husbands Joseph Kline and David Hassell, by sons Stephen, Mark and Richard Kline and by brothers Thomas and Joseph Lawson, and a sister Ruth Jarzinko.

She is survived by sons Jeffrey Kline and wife Ronda of Girardville and Bryan Kline Frackville, by daughters Debra Koback, and husband Alan Barnesville, Leslie Atkinson and husband Paul, California, Denise Allison and husband James, British Colombia Canada, Danette Gudaitus, Phila., Charlotte McLaughlin and husband Tom TX, Charlene Klemer and husband Jamie Frackville and Jodie Baker Hazleton. She has a sister Janet Coyle Shenandoah. She is survived also by a mighty heritage of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Shenandoah
