Obituary
James J. Wellington, 54, of 607 W. Market St., Mahanoy City, died Thursday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Born in Mahanoy City, Feb. 19, 1954, he was a son of Florence Singlar Wellington, Mahanoy City, and the late Joseph Wellington.
He lived most of his life in Mahanoy City and attended Mahanoy area schools.
James was a carpenter by trade and also worked in local collieries.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wellington, on March 14, 2006.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his companion, Bernie Mahmod; sons, James J. Wellington, at home; daughters, Leiloni Chesonis, Patriotic Hill, Mahanoy City, and Angela Wellington, Pottsville; a sister, Mary Lou Henniger, Morea Road, Frackville; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home, Mahanoy City, from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fred Crawford will officiate. Interment will be in Assumption BVM Cemetery, Mahanoy City.
