Obituary
Irene Starkey, 85, of Morea, Mahanoy City, passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Born in Coxeville, April 12, 1925, she was a daughter of the late George and Julia Babyack Craynock.
She retired from the former Janowich Dress factory, Mahanoy City, where she had worked for 37 years.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish and West End Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, both of Mahanoy City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Starkey.
Surviving are a son, Leonard Starkey, Palmerton; a grandson, Dr. Jason Starkey; a granddaughter, Dr. Melissa Starkey; and a sister, Verna Lischak, Reading.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Friday April 15th at Blessed Teresa Church, Mahanoy City.
