Helen August, 91, formerly of 625 W. Centre St. and of 10 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City, who had been a resident of Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville, died Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Born in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late John Demko and Dora Warjick Demko Krall. She lived in Mahanoy City most of her life.

She had been employed by Phillip and Jones, Ashland, and last worked for the former Janowich Dress Factory, Mahanoy City.

She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City. She had been a member of First Catholic Slovak Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, in 1987; brothers, Michael, John and Steve Demko; sisters, Anna Demko and Theresa Krall.

Surviving are a brother, George Krall, Mahanoy City; sisters, Catherine Anceravige, Frackville, Mary Lehigh, Lehighton, Patricia Ritsko, Schuylkill Haven, and Dorothy Gimeno, Mahanoy City; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Assumption BVM Cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a white dove will be released at the graveside in her memory.
