Obituary

Gerald Stephany, 87, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Thursday, December 3rd, peacefully, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.

Gerald was born in Mahanoy City, PA on July 28, 1928, a son of the late Catherine (Krieg) and Peter Stephany.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

He was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School Class of 1947.

He had worked as an independent coal miner and for Fiberite in Delano.

He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 74 Mahanoy City were he served honorably in the color guard, and was twice commander, War Vets, Pottsville, Veterans of Foreign War, and Good American Fire Company Mahanoy City, Park Crest Fish and Game, where he served as president for many years.

Gerald is survived by a daughter, Donna Baker, of Shenandoah; and by three sisters, Mary Gacura, of Stowe PA; Florence Sharpton, of Bull Head AZ; Katherine Moyer, of Slatington PA. and 2 grandchildren

Preceded in death by brothers Paul and James, and sisters Rose Bolton and Rita Perry

Military Honors will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 12:30 PM on Monday December 7th.

Friends may call Monday 9 - 11:30 AM at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. Mahanoy City.

Interment will be in the National Cemetery Fort Indiantown Gap Annville, PA.
