Georgina (Geri) Davis, 84, of Mahanoy, passed away Sunday, March 27th, at Hometown Nursing and Rehab Center.
Georgina was born in Mahanoy City, PA on May 31, 1931, a daughter of the late Sadie (Pasquale) and Guido Almonti.
She had attended local schools, and was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City. Georgina was active in the church of Saint Patrick, Pottsville.
She had worked for 40 years in local factories. She finally retired from the former City Shirt in Mahanoy City. Georgina was a member of Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.
She had volunteered her time at Trinity Lutheran Church, Senior Services, Rest Haven, and Luther Ridge nursing homes.
She was also a member of the Women's Guild of St. Joseph in Pottsville. She enjoyed playing cards, and doing ceramics.
Georgina is survived by a daughter, Judith Randisi, of Tacoma Washington, and a son, Edward Davis, of Mahanoy City; and a sister Linda in Nevada. Georgina is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Smolin in 1956, her second husband Edward Davis in 1984, brother Roland, and a sister Anna Kelemo
Georgina would like everyone to pray for all the residents, caregivers, and staff at Hometown, Nursing and Rehab Center, St. Luke's University Health Network Coaldale, and Life Choice Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.
Friends and family may call Thursday from 10 AM until time of mass at the church.
Interment will follow at Skyview Memorial Park Tamaqua.
