Obituary
George D. Mikita, "Uncle George" 58, of Shenandoah, PA, passed away Friday, October 24th, at Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville.
George was born in Shenandoah, PA on August 14, 1956, a son of the late Henrietta (Karpovich) and George Mikita.
He had last worked for and retired from Bloomsburg Financial as a branch Manager.
Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 618 of Shenandoah. The Shenandoah East End Field and Stream, He was a distinguished athlete in High School excelling in baseball as a pitcher. Considered one of the areas best Dart Shooters and was inducted into the Pennsylvania American Darts Association Hall of Fame in 2010. His Uncle Georges Dart Team won 4 State Championships.
George is survived by two cousins Joe, husband of Denice Ruth, of Lenhartsville; and Helene, wife of Michael Creasy, of Shenandoah.
He is preceded in death by his step mother Helen Wishnefsky
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St Michaels Cemetery Shenandoah.
