Francis M. Dunlap, 61, of 533 E. Pine St., Mahanoy City, died Saturday evening at his home.
Born in Mahanoy City, Jan. 24, 1947, he was a son of the late Michael and Rita McCoog Dunlap.
He lived in Arlington, Va. for 35 years, moving back to Mahanoy City in 2005.
He was a 1964 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School.
He was a veteran of the Navy during the Vietnam era.
Francis worked for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency for 30 years where he was the highest ranking civilian.
He was a member of the US Naval Institute (USNI), the Tailhook Association, Association of Naval Aviation Inc., American Legion Post 74 in Mahanoy City, and the National Rifle Association.
He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.
He is survived by a brother, Daniel, and his wife, Carol Dunlap, Delano; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Blessed
Teresa of Calcutta Church. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time
of services Wednesday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home, Mahanoy City.
Interment will be in St. Canicus Cemetery where a white dove will be released at the grave site in his memory.
