Francis J. Blashock, 75, of 31 Hemerick Lane, Ringtown, died Tuesday evening at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Mahanoy City, Aug. 6, 1932, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna Sherpinsky Blashock. Francis lived in Mahanoy City and Buck Mountain, Barnesville, and for the last 38 years in Ringtown.
He was educated in St. Joseph Parochial School, Mahanoy City, and Mahanoy City High School. He served in the Army as a corporal in Korea. Retired now, Francis was a rock driller in local collieries and construction industry.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Ernst Blashock; sons, Francis L. Blashock, Ringtown, John Blashock, at home, Paul Blashock, Zion Grove; a daughter, Deborah Petrill, Ringtown; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home, Mahanoy City. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown, where a white dove will be released at the graveside in his memory.
