Elizabeth M. Nolter, 93 of Mahanoy City, died April 30, at Ridgeview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah, PA

Born September 5, 1924 she was the daughter of the late John "Casey" and Elizabeth (Stanakis) Jones.

She was preceded in death by husband Joseph in 2000 and a brother John Jones in 1976.

She retired from the Mahanoy Area School Cafeteria in 1989. Betty was a member of the Elks auxiliary B.P.O.E 695, Nights of Lithuania #144, 1942 class reunion committee member; Rosary Society of St. Fidelis Church and St. Francis Sisters of Pittsburgh.

She is survived by a son, Joseph T. Nolter Jr. and his wife Patricia, of Mahanoy city, daughter Barbara Dereskavich and her husband Joseph, of Barnesville, daughter Virginia Haitz of Havertown PA and a sister Janice Britton of Mahanoy City. She is also survived by 5 grand children, Melissa, Matthew, Christian, Joseph, and Phillip, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and a nephew.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 10am on Friday, May 4th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.

Interment will follow at Skyview Memorial Park Tamaqua, PA.
