Elizabeth H. Kasper, 98, of 48 N. Eighth St., Mahanoy City, died Saturday morning at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center.
Born in Mahanoy City, Sept. 22, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Eva Romanusky Sharaka. She lived in Mahanoy City her entire life. She was educated in Mahanoy City schools.
She was a member of Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Parish, Mahanoy City, and a member of the Rosary and Magdalene society of the former St. Joseph Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1975; brothers, Joseph Sharaka and Anthony Sharaka; a sister, Katherine Stines.
Surviving are sons, John Kasper, Whitehouse Station, N.J., and Francis Kasper, Middletown; daughters, Arlene Ann Blew, Elizabethtown, Elizabeth Frye, Mahanoy City, and Evelyn Yost, New Boston, Mahanoy City; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a white dove will be released at the grave side in her memory. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
