Edward "Pete" Miller of Mahanoy City passed away unexpectedly Friday evening at home.

Born June 29, 1935 he was a son of the late Edward and Anna Dudash Miller of Gilberton. He was a graduate of the Gilberton High School and had served in the US Army.

Edward was previously employed at Metropolitan Mirror in Frackville, a police officer for Gilberton Borough, a Schuylkill County correctional officer and as a security guard at Resorts Hotel in Atlantic City.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, He loved the out of doors and he loved to dance.

He played semi-pro baseball and semi-pro football for the Schuylkill County Coal Crackers.

He was a life member of the Park Crest Fish and Game Club and a member of the American Legion.

Edward was preceded in death by sisters Joan Naspinsky and Margaret Cominsky and loving companion of 43 years Jean Dixon Hocking.

He is survived by a brother George F. Miller and his wife Mary Lou of Quakertown and by a nephew Joseph Cominsky of Gilberton.
