Obituary

Edward Hoffman, 80, of 21 Coles, Mahanoy City, died Thursday morning at Pottsville Hospital.

Born in Coles, near Mahanoy City, Aug. 2, 1927, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Margaret Hoffman.

He served in the Army during World War II, serving in Europe.

He lived his entire life in Coles and had worked for Skytop Coal, Mahanoy City, for many years. He retired after working for North Schuylkill Landfill.

He was an avid motorcyclist.

Surviving is a companion of many years, Louise Jones; a brother, Anthony Hoffman, Coles; a sister, Rose Marlene Stevens, Vulcan, Mahanoy City; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be Monday 11 AM at the German Protestant Cemetery, Mahanoy City. There will be no viewing. Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City, has charge of arrangements. truskowskyfuneralhome.com
