Daniel D. Stevens 67 of the Vulcan passed away Friday at his residence. Born June 17, 1954, in the Vulcan he was the son of the late Patrick and Anna Warner Stevens.

He graduated from Mahanoy Area High school in 1972.

He started his working career with Pagnotti Enterprise as a drag line operator. Dan spent 20 years at Schuylkill Energy Resources as a maintenance mechanic.  He spent the last 15 years working as the road foreman for Mahanoy Township. Although retired he could still be found helping the Mahanoy Township with plowing snow and maintenance work.

Dan was an avid outdoors man. He spent much of his time enjoying hunting and fishing. He also loved training and spending time with his many bird dogs over the years. Dan was also the captain of the Vulcan Sportsman club. Members of which include brothers, sons, cousins, and nephews. He will be deeply missed.

In addition, Dan was an active member at Bear's Head Sportsman Association where he held the treasurer position for many years. Dan was also treasurer and vice president of the MTA Hideaway fishing club.

Preceding him in death were his wife Julie (Mabus) Stevens, brothers Richard, Jerome and Patrick Stevens. He is survived by three sons Daniel and wife Jennifer Stevens, Florida; Jason and wife Jennifer Stevens, Barnesville; Skyler Milheim and fiancé Dietra DeRose, Effort; a sister Maire Heiser, Bellefonte a brother David Stevens, Vulcan. He is also survived by three grandchildren Joshua, Emily, Sarah and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call Friday January 28 from 6 to 8pm at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
