Daniel J. Markiewicz, 80, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 18th, peacefully, at Hometown Nursing and Rehab Center, Tamaqua.

Daniel was born in Mahanoy City, PA on June 5, 1933, a son of the late Mary (Dziado) and John Markiewicz.

He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City.

Daniel served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

He worked at A&P Super Market Mahanoy City, also worked for and retired from Sony in Delano.

Daniel loved all sports especially playing Darts, Shuffle Board and was a big Philadelphia Sports fan.

He had graduated from Mahanoy City High School Class of 1951.

He was the husband of Rose Ann (Boris) Markiewicz.

Daniel is also survived by three sons Daniel Jr., husband of Christine, of Mahanoy City; David, husband of Lynn, of Hometown; Donald, husband of Susan, of Tamaqua. He is also survived by Surviving also are 5 Grandchildren Jeremy, Gabrielle, Victoria, Zachary, and Talia.

Daniel is preceded in death by brothers Edmund, Francis, John, and Joseph, and sisters Helen Anthony, and Sister Donald O.S.F

Religious Service will be celebrated at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. , Mahanoy City, PA, at 7PM on Friday, March 21st, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.
