Daniel J. Banonis, 67, of Shenandoah, PA, passed away Sunday, October 30th, at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Daniel was born in Shenandoah, PA on December 19, 1948, a son of the late Eleanor (Kuchinsky) and Walter Banonis.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish Shenandoah formerly St George Church, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister.
He worked as a computer program analyst at Leader Data Processing in West Hazleton, Walmart Distribution Highridge.
Daniel graduated from Shenandoah JW Cooper High School Class of 1966 and attended Penn State University.
He was married 45 years to his wife Christine (Schlack) Banonis.
In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by a son, Jason, husband of Mary, of Lower Saucon Township, a sister Dorothy Leach, of Ringtown, 2 Grandchildren Andrew and Zachary, and also nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Daniel is preceded in death by 2 brothers John and Robert Kaplafka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Church, 216 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah, PA, at 10 AM on Saturday, November 5th, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian officiating.
Friends may call Saturday from 8 to 10 AM at Divine Mercy Church.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah.
