Obituary

Dale Sperlbaum, 69, of Mahanoy City, passed away Wednesday at his home.

Born in Guthsville, June 14, 1941, he was a son of the late Joseph and Esther Wetzel Sperlbaum.

He was of the Christian faith.

He served in the Navy and was a security guard at Vanak Security. He was also a welding teacher for many years at the Welding Training & Testing Institute.

Dale served on Coaldale Borough Council for six years, and was a member of VFW, Coaldale.

He drove stock cars and enjoyed bowling and working on race cars including micro midgets. Dale played in the band "Back Beats" as lead singer and played bass.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Nonnemacher Sperlbaum; a daughter, Charlene Sperlbaum, Mahanoy City; sons, Greg, Lansford, and Michael, Mahanoy City; sisters, Joanne Statsny, Allentown, and Shirley Sperlbaum, Bethlehem; brothers, Clifford, Walnutport, and Joseph, Northampton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
