Obituary

Curtis "Curt" Nagel Sr., affectionately known as "Rocky", passed away unexpectedly at his home in Tamaqua, PA, on November 23, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on March 10, 1962, in Abington, PA, Curt lived a life filled with love, humor, and dedication.

A highly skilled diesel mechanic for 45 years, Curt spent many years working at Haines & Kibblehouse in Skippack, PA. His passion for cars and motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons, was infectious. He enjoyed getting tattoos, tinkering with vehicles, and sharing his wealth of automotive knowledge with others.

Curt was a devoted family man, a great husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He cherished his wife, Marlene, and his children, Crystal Nagel, Curtis Nagel Jr., Ashley Kuhn, and their spouses, Mariah Nagel and Ron Kuhn. He was a proud grandfather to Curtis Nagel III and Shelby Catanzareti. He also cherished his dogs, Minnie and Layla.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his loving brothers David Nagel Sr., Ray Nagel Jr., and sisters Pam and Ellen Nagel, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his father Ray Nagel Sr., mother and stepfather Nan and Jim Dotzenroth, and brother Mark Nagel Sr.

Curt's humor and outgoing personality made him a beloved figure among friends and family. He was known for bestowing memorable nicknames and loved singing karaoke, especially "Proud to be an American"—a song he believed he had the perfect voice for. Curt's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and all the memories we have with him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Curt's life will be held at a later date.
